TOWN OF LISBON -- The Waukesha County sheriff issued a reverse 911 call Wednesday afternoon, July 24 due to a report of a man with a gun at a residence in the Town of Lisbon. Sheriff's officials later said "no actual threat existed, and the reported incident did not occur."

Reverse 911 call issued in Town of Lisbon in Waukesha CountySheriff's officials tweeted that the incident was taking place near Silver Spring Drive (County Highway VV) and Lynwood Drive, beginning around 2 p.m. This, after a 911 all came in from a male, who indicated a female neighbor came to his residence and reported someone was trying to kill her with a gun.

For several hours, residents couldn't get into the neighborhood, and the ordeal left people with a number of questions -- mainly, what prompted this response.

"No. I have no idea what's going on," said Steve Kirchoff, neighbor.

"I have no idea. I just pulled in, and they had the road blocked off," said Dan Scholl, neighbor.

Kirchoff said his girlfriend's son was at home, and a neighbor went to check on him.

"They're all hunkering down in the house," said Kirchoff. "Very quiet neighborhood. Really, nothing goes on around here. That's the way we like it -- nice and quiet."

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A head-on collision on I-94 just west of Highway 67 left one person dead and another injured. The crash caused a freeway closure and massive backups on the interstate.

Rick Passmore

The crash happened around 9:40 a.m. Friday morning in Waukesha County. Westbound lanes were closed for nearly three hours. Drivers were concerned, and also confused where to go.

Officials say a car traveling eastbound on I-94 hit a vehicle going westbound. One of the vehicles caught on fire. State troopers were told each driver was pinned inside their vehicles. The crash temporarily shut down all westbound lanes of I-94.

"I've never seen it shut down here," said Rick Passmore from East Troy.

"Trying to get on the interstate," said Cheryl Fliess from Union Grove. "I can't get on it."

Drivers caught in the gridlock say they were stuck in the traffic for a long time.

"Got stuck in this traffic, and it's taking us 45 minutes to go the last couple of miles," said Passmore.

"What should have been 10 minutes turned into almost 25 or 30 minutes," said Jordan Burac from Hartland.

Some out of town drivers had to pull over and figure out the best route.

"I just had to pull over to see where I could try to get on," said Fliess.

On Saturday, August 17, officials released the names of the victims. A 64-year-old man from Delafield named Michael Edwards was identified as the deceased motorist. A 36-year-old man from Lake Mills is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

WAUKESHA COUNTY — A bench warrant was issued for Kalin Sunde, 31, charged in connection to an hours-long standoff on I-94 after court records showed Sunde cut off her GPS monitoring device.

Sunde faces charges in four open cases:

Fond du Lac County (filed July 10)

  • Felony bail jumping
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 30.

Waukesha County (filed June 11)

  • Drive or operate vehicle without consent
  • Felony bail jumping
  • Fail to comply with officer/person into custody, as party to a crime
  • Fail to comply with officer/person into custody
  • Strike police/fire animals, causing injury
  • Vehicle operator flee/elude officer

A bail/bond hearing was scheduled for Aug. 28.

Waukesha County (filed June 7)

  • Resisting or obstructing an officer
  • Felony bail jumping

A bail/bond hearing was scheduled for Aug. 28.

Milwaukee County (filed Nov. 3, 2017)

  • Possession of narcotic drugs

A bench warrant was issued Aug. 27 after Sunde failed to appear in court on Aug. 26.

Sunde’s co-defendant, Nathan Halfmann, pleaded not guilty to the following charges on Aug. 9:

  • Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, repeater
  • Intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, repeater — three counts
  • Operating a vehicle without consent, passenger
  • Fail to comply officer/person into custody, repeater
  • Theft of movable property, special facts, repeater

A hearing was scheduled for Sept. 26.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Halfmann and Sunde, this all started with a report of a burglary in Germantown on June 3, the day before the pursuit and standoff. A man told police his parents’ home had been burglarized while they were in Las Vegas. A vehicle was reported missing from the garage — the minivan involved in the pursuit and standoff. A handgun officials said Nathan Halfmann was in possession of was also taken in this burglary. The complaint said the man interviewed by police indicated Kalin Sunde could’ve been at his parents’ home.

Nathan Halfmann, Kalin Sunde

Nathan Halfmann, Kalin Sunde

The complaint said Sunde said the van belonged to a customer who “pays her for sex.” She said it was Halfmann’s idea to go to the customer’s home and take property to satisfy an outstanding debt. She said she went along to make sure he didn’t “trash the place.” She said Halfmann found a pistol and keys to the van. She said she drove the van away from the Germantown home.

The next day, June 4, a park superintendent at the Kettle Moraine State Forest had contact with a vehicle at the Horseriders Campground in Palmyra. It was found parked near a campsite with no proof of having been registered for the site — and was illegally parked. At one point, the complaint said a female jumped into the driver’s seat and drove away.

Around 4:15 p.m., a DNR warden on routine patrol at the Paradise Springs Nature Area in the Town of Eagle observed a minivan parked in the lot matching the description of the vehicle from the earlier incident. It was found the minivan didn’t have a State Park entrance sticker in the windshield as required. A man and woman were found in the minivan. At one point, the complaint said the woman put the minivan in reverse, and as the warden yelled, “Ma’am, stop,” she drove off after shrugging her shoulders and smiling.

The warden pursued the minivan, and learned it had been listed as stolen.

Nathan Halfmann

The complaint said stop sticks were being set on Highway ZZ at the beginning of a construction zone, where workers were resurfacing pavement. A deputy was unable to set the spike strips in time. At one point, in the construction zone, the complaint said a large construction truck attempted to cut the minivan off, but the minivan went to the right around the truck.

At Highway 67, the van briefly came to a stop at a stop sign due to traffic, turning left to head north on Highway 67, requiring several other drivers to stop to avoid a collision.

Stop sticks were deployed between Upper Genesee Lake Road and Delafield Road, and the minivan swerved to avoid the sticks, but both driver’s side tires ended up deflated. More stop sticks were deployed at Delafield Road, which were hit by the van. Even more stop sticks were deployed at Blue Ridge Road. As the pursuit passed Blue Ridge Road and began the incline towards the I-94 overpass, a deputy got in position to perform a PIT maneuver.

At this point, the complaint said the man in the van leaned out of the front passenger seat holding a black handgun — initially pointing it at the warden and then pointing it at a deputy. The warden drew his service weapon and aimed it at the passenger side of the van through the windshield. The deputy rolled down his window and fired two shots at the van, which swerved into a guard rail and came to a stop on the east side of the I-94 overpass. Sunde told investigators neither she nor Halfmann were struck, and said Halfmann did fire at the police.

This is when the standoff ensued — around 4:30 p.m.

Nathan Halfmann, Kalin Sunde

Nathan Halfmann, Kalin Sunde

The complaint said contact was made with Nathan Halfmann, who indicated he had a hostage.

According to the complaint, Sunde said the suspect “had a gun to her head.” Sunde indicated her 2-month-old baby was in the vehicle. Halfmann and Sunde indicated Halfmann had been shot in the knee.

The complaint said negotiations with Halfmann didn’t go well, as he didn’t behave in a rational manner and was extremely agitated. The complaint said Halfmann and Sunde would make demands and then hang up the phone.

According to the complaint, law enforcement officials were very concerned about the possible child in the van. It was determined Sunde’s children had been taken from her by Child Protective Services. It was also noted they did not make any demands for diapers or formula for the baby, and it was suspected they were lying about the baby being in the van. It was further determined that Halfmann had been nicked, not actually shot.

The complaint noted throughout negotiations, Sunde didn’t seem to be very agitated, and displayed no fear in her voice. It was suspected they were using controlled substances during the negotiation. Sunde was streaming live to Facebook during the standoff.

During negotiations, the complaint said Halfmann at one point pointed a handgun out the driver’s side window of the minivan, pointing it directly at the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office’s Bearcat vehicle. He did not fire.

It was eventually decided gas would be deployed into the van. Halfmann and Sunde exited the van when the gas was deployed. As two tactical officers approached the van, shots were fired. Halfmann fell to the ground, and Sunde ran toward the east side of Highway 67.

Kalin Sunde

Kalin Sunde

According to the complaint, Sunde struggled to climb a chain link fence on the side of the overpass. She then began crawling through tall grass. Negotiators tried to get her to surrender, and she indicated he had a knife — threatening to stab a police dog if it approached her, saying, “Don’t make me stab the dog. I’m not dropping the knife.”

Gas was deployed, and Sunde approached officers, saying, “You’re going to have to kill me.” A less-lethal impact round was deployed and struck Sunde in the lower back. She screamed and continued walking across the highway.

Sunde was eventually taken into custody, and a deputy ordered that investigators, “Find whatever she stabbed the dog with.” Officials said K-9 Justice was stabbed by Sunde, and was treated and released.

Sunde was interviewed on June 5. She said Halfmann was her boyfriend, and they intended to drive to Fond du Lac with a half ounce of cocaine, six to 14 grams of heroin, and a smaller amount of meth. She said they opted not to “because her drug customers there did not have enough money.” She said meth “was her thing,” and she would purchase a ball of meth for $150 and then double her money when selling it. She admitted to using heroin “off and on.” She said on the way to Fond du Lac, they stopped at Horse Rider’s Park in Palmyra after getting some heroin and crack cocaine in Milwaukee. She said she grabbed the keys from Halfmann and drove to Rainbow Springs where they were approached by park police. Sunde said Halfmann told her to “drive,” and admitted he was armed. She said she thought about pulling over during the pursuit, but she “didn’t want to be in the middle of whatever Halfmann would do.” She said Halfmann fired at police during the pursuit, and police fired back. Neither she nor Halfmann were struck, she said.

Meet and greet with K-9 Justice

According to prosecutors, she said during the standoff, Halfmann began to “freak out” and put blankets up in the windows so officers couldn’t see in. She said it was Halfmann’s idea to tell police there was a child in the van in the hopes that police would not approach, and she “went along with it.”

She said Halfmann made several statements that he didn’t want to go back to prison and that he would shoot at officers and her. She said he held the pistol to her head at various times. She said Halfmann was injecting cocaine during the standoff, the complaint said.

She said she ran after gas was deployed into the van “because she is afraid of the police,” the complaint said.

She said she armed herself with an underwire from her bra “to defend herself from the dog.” She said she didn’t remember striking the dog, but after the dog bit her, she was taken into custody.

Kalin Sunde’s alleged attempted escape from the hospital

She’s also facing charges filed June 7 in connection with her alleged attempt to escape from Aurora Summit Medical Center, where she was taken for treatment after her arrest.

According to a criminal complaint, on June 6, Sunde was informed she would be discharged from the hospital and taken to the Waukesha County Jail.

Prosecutors said Sunde requested that a deputy open the window, using an IV pole as a cane to walk towards him, telling him, “Open the window. I’m not going back to jail.” The deputy refused, at which point the complaint said Sunde held the IV pole as if she were holding a baseball bat, telling the deputy, “I’m not going to jail. Just shoot me.” The complaint said she ignored repeated commands to drop the pole. The deputy had to grab it from her and drop it to the floor. According to prosecutors, Sunde continued to resist, and had to be assisted to the ground by the deputy — where she kicked her legs at the deputy in an attempt to get away. The deputy threatened to use his Taser, and the complaint said Sunde said, “You won’t (expletive) tase me.” The deputy was eventually able to get her into handcuffs, and she was re-secured to her hospital bed.

It was determined there were no further injuries to Sunde, and she could be discharged. She was placed in a restraint chair and taken to the Waukesha County Jail.

Dousman man accused firing shots, pointing weapon at woman, being combative with officers

Douglas Dahlberg

TOWN OF OTTAWA — A 48-year-old Dousman man faces multiple charges following an incident in the Town of Ottawa last Sunday, Aug. 25. The accused is Douglas Dahlberg. He faces the following criminal counts:

  • Battery to a law enforcement officer
  • Possession of a firearm while intoxicated, domestic abuse
  • Pointing a firearm at another, domestic abuse
  • Disorderly conduct, domestic abuse
  • Resisting an officer

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a residence on County Highway Z in the Town of Ottawa around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday. A citizen witness indicated “he heard about eight gun shots coming from the residence” and “saw muzzle flashes inside along with loud screaming.”

When the officers arrived on the scene, they came upon a woman in the garage at the residence. Officers noted “she was at first shocked to see them, but immediately complied with their instructions and ran to officers.” The woman was described as “emotional and frantic.” The woman indicated she and Dahlberg had been out. They returned to their residence around 9 p.m. The complaint says while the woman was in the bathroom, Dahlberg came “into the bedroom to grab two guns located in a nightstand.” A short time later, Dahlberg allegedly “went downstairs and fired off multiple rounds.” The woman told police “the defendant was ‘making the house safe.’ She stated that when he gets intoxicated he likes to clear the house and try to protect it.”

At some point, the complaint indicates the woman approached Dahlberg — and he “pointed the gun directly at her towards her lower half and foot area. She was fearful of the gun firing but not fearful of the defendant.”

According to the complaint, Dahlberg was not cooperative when officers attempted to take him into custody. At one point, they had to tase him. After Dahlberg was handcuffed, the complaint says he was “becoming increasingly more vocal and uncooperative.” At one point, the complaint says he grabbed an officer’s thumb and squeezed hard. Later he yelled something at one of the deputies and “he was observed to kick his legs out, striking her in the lower chest/stomach area, which caused her to fall backwards onto the garage floor.” The deputy needed to seek a medical evaluation for injuries she suffered.

The complaint indicates officers recovered three firearms — a rifle and two revolvers. All the weapons had live ammunition.

Later, when Dahlberg was in transport to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the complaint says “he began to howl loudly, like a wolf, and resist the efforts of many officers.” He also “began to hit his head on the plastic door frame, as well as the window, and yell out, ‘Ow!’ each time he struck his head, as though he was trying to make it seem like (the officers) were hitting his head against the door.”

When asked to submit to a blood test, Dahlberg told officers, “No,” saying “I want the judge to remember my name. I’m going to waste everyone’s time.”

Dahlberg made his initial appearance in court on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Cash bond was set at $20,000. Dahlberg is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 10.

Kalin Sunde

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- The U.S. Marshals are among the law enforcement searching for a 31-year-old Pewaukee woman. Kalin Sunde was involved in a lengthy standoff that shut down part of I-94 on June 4. It was an incident that impacted thousands of people over the course of two days. Sunde's attorney says, given the high cash bond amount paid for her bail, he never believed she would cut off her GPS device and make a run for it.

"We're all in limbo here," said Attorney Benjamin Van Severen. "There are warrants out for her, it's my understanding police are searching for her."

Attorney Ben Van Severen is representing Sunde.

"I had no indication from her that she was not going to cooperate," Van Severen said.

Sunde's attorney says he was notified Friday, Aug. 23 that she missed a drug screening which is a violation of her bail conditions. She then missed an important court date in Milwaukee on Monday, Aug. 26. Van Severen was then notified Sunde cut off her GPS monitoring device near 34th and Galena in Milwaukee that same day.

She hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Ben Van Severen

"I want her to contact me," Van Severen said.

Court records show a friend of Sunde's paid her cash bond on Aug. 12, which was a total of $100,000. Given the high amount paid, her attorney says he had no reason to believe this would happen.

Sunde faces a lengthy list of charges stemming from her involvement in the lengthy standoff. The incident shut down part of I-94. The man she was with, Nathan Halfmann, also faces charges in the same case.

Nathan Halfmann

Sunde used Facebook Live to stream negotiations with police. Prosecutors say she stabbed a K-9 officer with the underwire from her bra when she was arrested. Her attorney tells us she has open cases in Waukesha, Milwaukee and Fond du Lac Counties.

He says her decision to run could cause her to face more charges. He's calling on her to turn herself in.

"Sooner is always better, the longer someone is on the run, the worse it looks for them," said Van Severen.

Sunde has several options to surrender, either turn herself in at a courthouse or any police department.

Meanwhile, Halfmann remains in custody still undergoing medical treatment for the injuries he endured in June.

OCONOMOWOC — Whether on land, or on the water, law enforcement officials were out in force during the Labor Day holiday weekend, looking for those making the choice to put themselves and others in danger by driving while intoxicated or impaired. FOX6 News tagged along with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department’s Boat Patrol on Okauchee Lake Sunday, Sept. 1.

“I’m Detective Aiden with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department,” said a WCSD Boat Patrol member. “Do you know the reason why we’re stopping you today? No? Do you know what the speed limit on the lake is? 40. You’re correct. Do you know how fast you were going? You do not.”

Detective Aiden and others were keeping an eye out for drunk or drugged boaters.

“People just gotta really go slow, watch their alcohol intake, and just try to be real safe out on the water,” said Detective Aiden.

The WCSD Boat Patrol was among many agencies stepping up patrols through the holiday weekend — reminding everyone that they planned to “stop, test, arrest, and lock up as many impaired drivers as necessary to prevent needless crashes, injuries and deaths on our roadways.”

On Saturday, Aug. 31, FOX6 News joined the Wisconsin State Patrol in their effort to keep people safe on the road.

On Friday, Aug. 30, the Milwaukee Police Department hosted a “Street Roll Call” to discourage impaired driving. Following the roll call, 40 law enforcement agencies from Milwaukee and Waukesha counties deployed OWI Task Force officers into communities to detect, stop, and arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

“You’re not going to get a ticket,” said Detective Aiden. “I’m gonna give you a verbal warning. Right now, there’s not a whole lot of traffic, and he was very polite, and kindness will get you somewhere.”

It’s important for boaters to check the speed limit on the lake, and remember that everyone on board must have a life jacket.

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- The Waukesha County woman accused of causing a highway standoff and stabbing a K-9 with her bra was in court Wednesday, Sept. 4 after authorities said she cut off her GPS monitoring device and was on the run. Kalin Sunde was found in Milwaukee, and forfeited her $100,000 bond.

Sunde appeared in court Wednesday on new bail jumping charges.

"She did not voluntarily turn herself in," said Sue Opper, Waukesha County district attorney. "She didn't surrender."

Kalin Sunde

Sunde was previously charged after prosecutors said she caused a standoff on I-94, documenting it on social media, before stabbing a K-9 officer with an underwire from her bra.

On Aug. 12, she was out of custody with GPS monitoring after court records showed a Pewaukee man posted her $100,000 cash bond. FOX6 News stopped by that man's home Wednesday. No one answered the door.

Eleven days after posting bond, Sunde's GPS bracelet was removed. She was captured in Milwaukee Aug. 29.

"This was a significant effort by law enforcement," said Opper. "They didn't just stumble onto her like we sometimes do, and she made no effort to turn herself in."

New cash bond of $250,000 was set Wednesday.

"It's going to make things more difficult, especially with negotiations with the prosecution," said Ben Van Severen, Sunde's attorney. "If these cases do go to trial, there are additional allegations the jury is going to have to consider. It does make any defense attorney's job a little more difficult."

"This amount of cash bail is necessary to assure your appearance in court," said Judge Jennifer Dorow.

Opper said it took 15 Milwaukee police officers and close to 10 U.S. Marshals to locate Sunde.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 12 on the new bail jumping charges.

Prosecutors said Sunde tried to escape soon after her arrest.

The standoff shut down I-94 near Highway 67 in the Village of Summit on June 4.

On Friday, Sunde entered no-contest pleas to some of the most serious charges filed against her. The plea deal was broken down as follows:

On that June day, Sunde was in a stolen van with Nathan Halfmann, 37. He alleged he was holding her hostage. She used Facebook Live to stream negotiations with law enforcement, and their bizarre behavior.

The standoff ended with an officer-involved shooting. Halfmann was shot, but survived his injuries, while prosecutors said Sunde stabbed Waukesha County Sheriff's K-9 Justice.

After her arrest, prosecutors said Sunde tried to escape from Aurora Summit Medical Center, where she was taken for treatment after her arrest.

On Aug. 12, Sunde was released from custody after bond was posted, and 11 days later, prosecutors said she cut off her GPS bracelet. She was on the run until Aug. 29, when she was captured in Milwaukee.

Two counts of felony bail jumping were filed out of Waukesha County on Sept. 3. Those counts were dismissed but read into the court record.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the judge reinstated $90,000 of that cash bond.

The man who posted her bond asked for a refund.

During her plea/sentencing hearing Friday, Sunde was visibly emotional. The court also learned more about her past, including details of a life filled with trauma. Sunde said the path she was on prior to her arrest nearly resulted in the end of her life.

“I’ve been through a lot," said Sunde. "I'm really sorry for everything. Everything happens for a reason. I would be dead if this didn’t happen.”

In court, Sunde revealed she got engaged to a man from her past.

Meanwhile, FOX6 News spoke with Halfmann's attorney Friday afternoon, who said a 2020 trial date was set for him on standoff charges.

Soderberg faces one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of soliciting an intimate representation from a minor.

Officials said Soderberg used the Instagram name “sammyisabaddy” to assume the identity of a female. He is alleged to have targeted early-teen boys -- and requested they send nude images to him.

"Two concerned parents that had a conversation with their child, and they found out that their child was being victimized over the internet," said Captain Marc Moonen with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

It was the parents' worst nightmare. Investigators said a sexual predator targeted their child over social media.

"Their son was a victim on Instagram," said Captain Moonen.

Sheriff's officials said the inappropriate conversations began in spring.

"Asking for explicit (pictures) and videos," said Captain Moonen.

Soderberg's alleged profile read that "she" was "always bored and always looking to chat." As the two grew closer, officials said that's when the requests for pictures started. They said at one point, Soderburg was "coercing and directing (the victim) on what type of sexually explicit content to send."

"Based on the fact that it was over the internet, our detectives worked with the district attorney's office, as well as Instagram, and they were able to find out who the owner of the account was," said Captain Moonen.

InstagramOfficials said Soderberg may have victimized additional juveniles, primarily in the Waukesha County and Wauwatosa area, with other account names possibly used.

"We do believe that there may be more victims out there," said Captain Moonen. "We ask parents to have that difficult conversation with their child."

If anyone has information that may be beneficial for the investigation, you are urged to contact Detective Mark Conrad at 262-691-6038.

Soderberg made his initial appearance in court on Monday, Nov. 11. Cash bond was set at $25,000. Soderberg is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 6.

Jacob Anderson

WAUKESHA COUNTY — A charge of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle was filed Monday, Nov. 11 against Jacob Anderson, 26, of Waukesha

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near Highway 67 and Highway NN in Eagle.

Investigators responding to the scene found a white Ford F-250 and a man standing next to it, talking on his cellphone. The front of a gray Subaru was making contact with the front driver’s side of the Ford.

Prosecutors said Anderson was driving the truck and told investigators “he thought his leg was broken.” He said he left a job site and was heading back to Waukesha, but didn’t know where he was coming from, and couldn’t remember what happened. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the Subaru was trapped in her vehicle, and did not have a pulse and was not breathing when she was extricated. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told investigators he was behind the Subaru, headed southbound on Highway 67, when the truck crossed the double yellow lines and hit the Subaru head-on, according to the complaint.

An off-duty nurse was in front of the Subaru and said she had to swerve to avoid being struck. She said the man in the truck was on his phone, prosecutors said. She said he had his phone in his hand, up in front of his face, as if he was texting or looking at the screen for some reason. She said, “It aggravated her that he was on his phone and had almost crashed into her.”

A third witness said the driver of the truck made no effort to brake or make any attempt to avoid hitting the Subaru, the complaint said.

The complaint noted there was a tank in the bed of the truck that was filled with water at the time of the crash — adding approximately 2,350 pounds of water to the truck.

Investigators found a dash camera in the Subaru, which captured the crash. The video showed the driver tried to swerve to avoid the crash. The video ended just after the impact.

Anderson made his initial appearance in court Monday. Cash bond was set at $10,000, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 20.

WAUKESHA -- Matthew Timm of Delafield pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 20 to charges of child enticement and 10 counts of possession of child pornography in Waukesha County. They are all felonies.

In September, a concerned citizen contacted the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, telling them the suspect, Timm, had confided in him about his increasing sexual interest in an 8-year-old girl. When law enforcement confronted the suspect, prosecutors said it was discovered he had already taken steps to act on it.

According to a criminal complaint, officers recovered nearly 900 images or videos of child porn on a hard drive -- and a manual on how to assault children.

Matthew Timm

The documents stated Timm had become obsessed with an 8-year-old girl whom he had contact with. In court for his initial appearance, Timm's attorney noted there was never any sexual contact with the victim, but prosecutors said disturbing emails from Timm showed his behavior was escalating. The emails were forwarded to law enforcement by a member of the online chat forum "Virtuous Pedophiles," a self-described support group for adults who are sexually attracted to children but who are also against acting on their desires. In the emails, Timm allegedly wrote that the 8-year-old girl is "initiating [sexual behavior]... I'm struggling to say no."

A court hearing was scheduled for Jan. 8, 2020.

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Three felony charges were filed Tuesday, Jan. 7 against a Delafield man accused of making a threat that prompted an evacuation of the Waukesha County Courthouse complex on Monday, Jan. 6. Online court records showed he was due in court that morning.

Jeffrey Ferrick, 55, faces one count of bomb scares, one count of make terrorist threats, and one count of felony bail jumping.

Cash bond was set at $150,000 when Ferrick made his initial appearance in court in Waukesha County Tuesday. Online court records showed conditions of that bond are that he cannot possess any dangerous weapons/firearms/bomb-making materials, and should he be released from custody on bond, a deputy must escort him to his home to seize firearms prosecutors said were found there Monday night. Additionally, the court ruled that he cannot instruct anyone to dispose of any weapons in his home. When he attends court in the future, he must remain in the parking lot and call dispatch in order to be escorted to and from the courthouse by a deputy.

Prosecutors said investigators found 17 firearms found in his home Monday night.

Ferrick was due in court Monday morning -- when the complex was evacuated. Online court records showed he had a scheduled status conference at 10 a.m. in a theft case, with a jury trial scheduled for March.

The Waukesha County Courthouse, administrative building, and juvenile center were evacuated Monday morning after FOX6 News called to report information from an anonymous caller who indicated five bombs were placed in the courthouse -- and the first was set to go off at 9 a.m. According to a criminal complaint, the caller indicated the bombs had been smuggled in during the last week and indicated the suspect was a disgruntled former employee. Investigators determined the telephone number the caller was calling from was associated with Aurora Summit Hospital in Summit. A security member there was able to access surveillance video which allowed the development of a suspect profile -- a middle-aged white male wearing a black Carhartt knit cap and a blue or dark hooded sweatshirt with a logo in the upper left portion. He was wearing dark sunglasses, jeans, and hiking shoes, and had a long beard with streaks of white and black. That same man was seen entering a blue or dark truck in the parking lot that appeared to be a Dodge Ram.

The complaint said a second call was received at approximately 9:10 a.m. by Waukesha County Communications from an anonymous male providing similar information to the first call. The phone number the caller was coming from was associated with Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the complaint said.

Surveillance video from the hospital showed a man who appeared to be the same person as the individual seen in the Aurora Summit Hospital video. Additionally, the same truck appeared to be involved.

Courthouse surveillance video showed a Dodge Ram in the parking lot of the Waukesha County Health and Wellness Center at 9:20 a.m. -- with the driver wearing similar clothing as the man in the surveillance video.

Person of interest in Waukesha County Courthouse bomb threatOn Monday afternoon, officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department asked for help identifying and locating a person of interest -- and they announced an arrest just before 6 p.m.

This, after the complaint said two deputies called detectives and identified the man as Ferrick, indicating they had dealt with him personally in the past.

Investigators learned of Ferrick's open theft case, in which $5,000 signature bond was set. Again, he was due in court in that case Monday morning. Investigators also learned he was leasing a blue Dodge Ram, the complaint said.

Deputies responded to his Delafield home and arrested him. The complaint said he was wearing the same shoes seen in the surveillance videos, and a Carhartt knitted cap was found on the front passenger seat of his vehicle.

During an on-scene interview, the complaint said Ferrick indicated he was driving near Aurora Summit Hospital that morning, and also acknowledged stopping at Waukesha Memorial Hospital to use the restroom before heading over to the courthouse. He said when he got there, he couldn't go in because of the bomb threat.

WAUKESHA COUNTY — Charges were filed Monday, Jan. 27 against a Waukesha woman facing two counts of intoxicated use of a vehicle causing great bodily harm, repeater after prosecutors said she caused a chain-reaction crash that injured a Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy on Jan. 17.

The crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. on I-94 westbound near S. Elm Grove Road. In the moments after the crash, the criminal complaint said the deputy was screaming that she was hurt, and could not feel her legs.

The crash involved three vehicles — including the squad, a Chevy Tahoe, along with a red Prius, and a gray Volkswagen SUV. Prosecutors said Jamie Robinson was driving the VW SUV.

The deputy indicated she was in the median break point when she was struck by other vehicles — suffering severe pain down her legs, back, and neck area. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a concussion, a laceration to her skull, a possible stress fracture to her foot, a lacerated bowel, a torn calf muscle, and damaged vertebrae.

The driver of the red Prius, which prosecutors said was struck by Robinson’s VW SUV, and then pushed into the deputy’s squad, suffered multiple broken bones, internal bleeding, and lacerations — injuries that required surgery, according to the complaint. When first responders arrived, a physician was tending to this driver — and officials took over her care and the care of the deputy.

Investigators spoke with the front seat passenger of the VW SUV prosecutors said Robinson was driving. He was not hurt and said he didn’t see how the crash happened.

Robinson said she was headed westbound on I-94 near Highway 100 when she “rubbed her eye,” and then crashed into a vehicle, but she didn’t know which one, the complaint said. Prosecutors said she offered quick, short responses to questions, and sometimes said, “I don’t know” very quickly. Investigators noted her pupils were dilated and she was “very hyperactive,” as Robinson indicated she didn’t take medication or use any drugs.

Crash into Waukesha County squad

As Robinson was being transported to the sheriff’s substation for field sobriety testing, investigators learned DOT camera video showed Robinson caused the crash — when the VW struck the rear of the Prius, which then struck the squad.

A search of the vehicle prosecutors said Robinson was driving revealed drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, and glass pipe, along with marijuana, a Narcan container, and a Walgreens bottle for suboxone with Robinson’s name on it. The complaint said she indicated she knew nothing about the items.

Robinson was arrested for OWI, and during transport to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, indicated she had gabapentin pills on her person, the complaint said. Investigators recovered 35 pills in a bag, and while Robinson said she had a prescription for the medication, she did not provide documentation of it, according to prosecutors. At the hospital, the complaint said she became very lethargic and was unable to stay awake. She refused a blood draw, so a search warrant was obtained for one, the complaint said.
